September 24, 2017 | Bishop Eduard Khegay, leader of the Eurasia Episcopal Area, represented The United Methodist Church at a special ecumenical, Protestant worship service in Russia this morning. The service, held at St. Peter and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Moscow, was part of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. More than 300 worshipers were present, including an ecumenical choir of 50 young adults from the different faith communions. In addition, United Methodists associated with the Methodist Seminary in Moscow including Dr. Jean Hawxhurst, staff for the Council of Bishops, the Rev. Sam Needham, provision elder from Indiana, and the Rev. John Beyer, elder from Georgia were in attendance.
