Religions for Peace USA is the nation’s most broadly representative interfaith organization, with nearly 50 national member religious communities. It’s mission is to inspire and advance multi-religious actions for peace. Some of their key issues are islamophobia, climate change and immigration. The relationship between the United Methodist Church and RfP USA is long standing, as the UMC was one of the founding member communions of RfP USA. On May 18th, RfP USA will bring two groups (from Knoxville and Nashville) up to Louisville for the Festival of Faiths. These groups are composed of community leaders and clergy who are working to increase understanding and relationship between religious communities. On the 18th, leaders from Louisville’s Interfaith Paths to Peace will join the RfP group to share a meal together and discuss the challenges and blessings of interfaith work in these three cities (Louisville, Knoxville, Nashville). The dinner will start at 7:00PM and the location will be announced in the coming days.

If you would like to join this group, share a meal and get to know community and faith leaders interested in building relationship and understanding across lines of faith, please join them! Contact, Aaron Stauffer (aaronkstauffer@rfpusa.org) and he’ll be in touch with you for more information.

Please visit www.rfpusa.org or www.ourmuslimneighbor.org for more information on their work in general or their work on Islamophobia, respectively.
